PART ONE
Estate Administration
Being the executor of a deceased estate holds a number of legal and financial obligations. We'll support you by:
- Reading through the will (or talking through your options if the deceased didn't have one).
- Outlining what your responsibilities are as an executor or administrator.
- Determining if you will need to apply for a Grant of Probate on behalf of the estate.
- Reviewing the death certificate to ensure there are no errors that will impact your application.
- Working with you to complete a register of assets and liabilities of the estate.
- Gathering any supporting or additional information that may be required by the Courts.
- Lodging all paperwork and application documents required by CourtsSA and liaising with the Supreme Court on your behalf.
PART TWO
Estate Management
When you've received a Grant of Probate, we will work with you to sell the estate's assets, pay creditors, and work with beneficiaries so they can receive their inheritance, including:
- Helping you call in assets (sell properties, shares, or other assets).
- Finalising payments to creditors.
- Contacting banks, insurance companies, superannuation companies and other asset holders on your behalf.
- Applying for nursing home refundable accommodation deposit (RAD).
- Providing documentation to open bank accounts.
- Liaising with beneficiaries and other parties on your behalf.
- Arranging for title transfers and other conveyancing work if required.
- Distributing funds to beneficiaries in line with your legal obligations.
- Ensuring you're meeting all your legal obligations as an executor or administrator.
- Assisting in completing financial reports (including those required by the Public Trustee).

Initial Advice
Contact us so we can have a conversation about your personal circumstances and then make a time for an initial meeting where we'll discuss the estate, any concerns you may have, and the steps required to move forward without stress or overwhelm.
Estate Administration
We'll work with you to gather the documents you require to apply for either a Grant of Probate (if there's a will) or Letters of Administration (if there's no will) outline your obligations as Executor or Administrator, and provide legal guidance around finalising the estate.
Estate Management
Once you have received notification from the Supreme Court we are able to support and guide you in calling in the assets of the estate, paying debts, selling property and shares, meeting tax obligations, closing accounts and communicating with beneficiaries and other relevant parties.
