When it comes to estate planning, people deserve better.  You deserve better.

If you’re anything like me, perfectionism can stop you from getting things done.  Getting your roots touched up, folding your laundry, getting that box of stuff out of your boot and into the op shop.  Or doing your estate planning.

I get worried about all the things that can go wrong. I get worried about not being good enough. And of course, I always blame myself when things don’t work out. Like most of us I am my own harshest critic. While this keeps me safe, it also means that over time many of my ideas have remained just that… ideas.

But this time, I am replacing perfectionism with bravery and I have taken the leap. I have started my own business.

Starting my own business has helped me to define my purpose. And it was simpler than I thought. I want to take care of my family. I want to help others take care of their families too. And this time I’m not going to let perfectionism get in the way.

I started with an idea then I reached out to experts that I trusted (finance, marketing, IT) and listened to their advice. Most of all I did it imperfectly, without getting all of my ducks immaculately lined up. I took the leap: and I survived!

I want you to take the leap, too. You know that you should have a will, but you don’t feel like you have all your ducks in a row. All you need to know is that you really do need a will: no matter your situation. It’s never too early, and it’s never too late.
